Hello friends,
Some customers have requested that we provide a step-by-step guide for new DIY gel nail polish users. We have prepared these pointer guidelines for you. We are happy to share and contribute this with some users who have not tried or are worried about starting on their own. We hope that we can give you some confidence to start.
Step 1: Prepare Your Nails
Start by gently pushing back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher. Trim and shape your nails to your desired length and shape using a nail file. Buff the surface of your nails to remove any shine, ensuring better adhesion of the gel polish. Cleanse your nails with a nail cleaner or an alcohol wipe to remove any dust and oils.
Step 2: Apply Dehydrator and Primer
Apply a thin layer of nail dehydrator to each nail. The dehydrator removes any remaining moisture and oils, ensuring a better bond between your natural nails and the gel products. Next, apply a thin layer of nail primer. The primer further enhances adhesion, helping the gel polish to last longer without lifting or peeling.
Step 3: Apply the Base Coat
Apply a thin layer of base coat to each nail, ensuring even coverage. Be careful not to touch your cuticles or skin. Cure the base coat under a UV or LED lamp according to the manufacturer's instructions. The base coat acts as a protective barrier and helps the gel polish adhere better to your nails.
Step 4: Apply the Gel Polish
Choose your favourite gel polish colour and apply a thin, even layer to each nail. Cure under the UV or LED lamp for the recommended time. Repeat this step to achieve full opacity, applying a second thin layer of gel polish and curing it again. Thin layers are key to preventing the polish from wrinkling or bubbling.
Step 5: Create Your Design
If you want to add nail art, this is the perfect time to do so. Using a nail art brush, dotting tool, or stickers, create your desired design on the cured gel polish. Cure the design under the UV or LED lamp. If you use multiple layers or elements in your design, cure each layer separately to ensure a crisp and durable finish.
Step 6: Apply the Top Coat
Once the design is set, apply a thin layer of top coat to seal and protect your gel polish. Cure the top coat under the lamp. The top coat provides a glossy finish and ensures your manicure lasts longer without chipping.
Step 7: Cleanse and Moisturise
After curing the top coat, cleanse your nails with a nail cleaner or alcohol wipe to remove any sticky residue. Finally, apply cuticle oil to nourish your cuticles and moisturise your hands with a good hand cream.

Enjoy your DIY manicure! 💅🏽
